Partners INW
Created at Blackbird Digital
Partners INW helps people across the Inland Northwest access food, clothing, diapers, emergency assistance, and other essential resources. Their work is rooted in a simple idea: people deserve practical support delivered with dignity.
I helped bring that spirit to life through a brand refresh, a full website, a fleet of vehicle wraps, and print materials connecting people with their mission.
A Familiar Mark, Carefully Refined
The refresh began with the logo Partners INW already had. I refined its alignment, line weights, positioning, balance, and anchor points, using a detailed grid to bring consistency to every shape.
From there, I built a flexible logo system with arrangements for different spaces and versions for the food bank, clothing bank, and diaper bank. Supporting plant illustrations extended the character of the mark, adding warmth and movement throughout the identity.
Color With Personality, Type With Purpose
Color became the biggest transformation. We wanted a palette that reflected the energy and personality of the people behind Partners INW, with a bright, welcoming presence that stood out in the community.
Raspberry and avacado anchor the identity with white. While the eggplant, blueberry, lime, and lemon create room for playful combinations. I developed guidance for color pairings to keep information readable alongside all that personality.
We kept their existing Poppins font and gave it a clear role in headings, paired with Outfit for longer content and Gelato Luxe for occasional expressive moments. Together, the colors and typography balance a lively identity with the practical needs of a resource focused organization.
Making a Big Website Feel Easy
The website was one of my favorite challenges. Partners INW offers an enormous range of information, from emergency assistance and essential services to community resources, news, and opportunities to give back. With around 15 forms, there was plenty to organize.
I structured the experience around clear paths to Get Help, Give Help, and Resources, helping visitors find a starting point that matches their needs. Bright colors and playful illustrations brought warmth to an experience people might be navigating during a difficult moment.
Some of the most detailed work happened within the resource pages. I organized Helpful Links by the type of support someone needs, including emergency help, healthcare, housing, and financial assistance. The food bank directory brings together locations, service hours, contact information, and linked directions, giving visitors practical information to plan their next step.
I also organized the FAQ into topics with links to jump directly to relevant questions, whether someone needs support, wants to volunteer, or is planning a donation drive. These details made a large collection of information easier to browse and gave the website a purpose beyond introducing Partners INW: helping people figure out where to go next.
Taking the Brand on the Road
Designing my first fleet meant figuring out how one visual system could work across several very different vehicles. Each wrap needed to feel unmistakably Partners INW while fitting the proportions, panels, and curves of its vehicle.
The van was a particularly fun challenge, with rounded corners that called for a different approach than the trucks. Adapting the layouts while keeping the fleet cohesive brought the identity to life at a whole new scale.
The Everyday Details
I also got the opportunity to design two rack cards, business cards for the team, and staff name tags. Each piece carried the same color, personality, and care into everyday interactions, whether someone was learning how to get support or meeting the people who make it happen.
